Acupuncturist, Herbalist and FounderIn the rolling hills of the small village of Stobierna, Poland, Beata Maslanka was introduced to the wonders of nature's healing bounty. Born and raised in this picturesque land, Beata's childhood was filled with adventures in the lush forests and meadows that surrounded her home. As a kid, Beata, her sister, and her brother would eagerly gather chamomile flowers for tea, their laughter echoing through the fields as they collected the delicate blossoms. Together, they explored the new forest growth, their eyes alight with curiosity as they searched for mushrooms, knowing that their mother would soon pan-fry them with butter, infusing each bite with a taste and aroma that lingered in Beata's memory to this day. Inspired by the legendary Bruce Lee and his incredible feats of strength and focus, Beata became fascinated by the concept of internal energy flow and the profound connection between mind and body. It was during this time that she first learned about the health benefits of internal energy practices, sparking her interest in the art of healing. As she grew older, Beata embarked on a journey of her own, leaving her country of birth behind to seek new opportunities in the United States. Like many immigrants, her path was marked by challenges of integration and adaptation, but through perseverance and determination, she found her way. It took time for Beata to discover her true passion, but when she stumbled upon Traditional Chinese Medicine with its emphasis on herbal remedies and acupuncture, she knew she had found her calling. Inspired by her desire to help her sick grandfather through nutrition and herbal treatments, Beata made the bold decision to pursue a career in healing. Her journey led her to the prestigious Pacific College of Health and Science in New York City, where she immersed herself in the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine, earning a master's degree and honing her skills under the guidance of seasoned practitioners. Throughout her studies, Beata embraced opportunities to integrate Eastern healing practices with Western medicine, completing internships at various hospitals in New York City, including the renowned Mount Sinai Beth Israel and the Initiative for Women with Disabilities. Driven by her passion for healing and fueled by her wanderlust, Beata embarked on adventures that took her across the globe, practicing acupuncture in diverse settings, from the verdant landscapes of Ireland to the sun-drenched decks of cruise ships traversing exotic waters. Today, Beata finds herself at The Great Turning Acupuncture, where she continues her mission to heal and empower others on their journey to wellness. With each needle she places and each herb she prescribes, she honors the rich tapestry of her past and embraces the boundless possibilities of the future.
