  • Marlene Burk, LAc

    Acupuncturist

After benefiting from massage in her early twenties, Marlene Burk was inspired to learn Shiatsu massage and become a nationally certified and licensed acupuncturist. She loves helping others find relief from pain, anxiety, and depression, and she even helps women during pregnancy. “My favorite part is connecting with patients,” Marlene Burk says. “It’s fascinating to get a glimpse into their lives as I look for ways to help them heal. I also like to open their minds to new habits that can impact their health.” When she’s not with patients, Marlene Burk likes to continually expand her acupuncture expertise through research, spend time with her son and cat, cross-stitch, do jigsaw puzzles, and travel the world.

  • Latha Cherath

    MD, PhD, FACP

From the time Dr. Latha Cherath was 8 years old, she wanted to take care of the sick and dying and provide care and comfort as only a physician could. So, after she finished her residency in Internal Medicine, becoming a hospitalist was a natural fit. “It was an honor to serve seniors during their hospital stays, but I missed the continuity of care” she says, and that was why she chose to join ChenMed. “I am dedicated to caring for seniors with the dignity and respect they deserve.” Dr. Cherath especially enjoys listening to her patients’ stories and providing education to support their health. Dr. Cherath has traveled around the world and volunteered in refugee camps and in medical clinics serving the poor. When she’s away from work, Dr. Cherath loves to spend time with her husband and children, listen to podcasts, read, write, go on long hikes, watch movies, and listen to music.

  • Sameena Kaur

    MD

Dr. Sameena Kaur has been fascinated with the human body since early childhood, and she loves being able to help people as a physician. “My favorite part is making meaningful connections with patients and establishing relationships that go beyond just medical care,” she says. Part of that includes giving patients a safe place to share—their concerns, stories, and whatever is on their mind. “Hearing about my senior patients’ lives is always a joy, and it is an honor to be able to take care of them,” she adds. When Dr. Kaur is not with patients or keeping up with medical research, she likes to try new cuisines, bake, knit/crochet, and travel. One day, Dr. Kaur hopes to visit Santorini, Greece.
